Marumado necklace

A necklace made with a concept of the circle windows. It is a renowned component of Japanese traditional architecture, which are usually towards the garden with shoji screens or lattice inserted, used for admiring the beautiful view. It is a subtle design element in architecture, breaking of the monotony of straight lines and angles and creating a more welcoming space.

The pendant is made of a burning cracked glaze inside the round bezel to create a “scenery”, then covered with a “screen” made from antique brass mesh. the appearance of the glaze inside will change depending on the angle.

Each item is individually handmade to order. Please expect and enjoy subtle variances as a result of the handmade process.
